The S2Maui HORNET 22 is the choice among performance-conscious wind-foil riders who prefer a lighter sail without a cam. The HORNET 22 combines elements of the V-FR Foil Race and the RAF Banshee for improved performance in wind-foil. The HORNET features a High-aspect outline and a low foot area layout derived from the V-FR Foil Race, which, combined with a 6-batten RAF structure and a tighter torsion profile of the Leech, make this sail specific for Foil.
Ultralight Technora™ Spacelight™ is used in the torsion area of the Leech, and the new Carbon WX Spacelight™ with low elasticity in the Clew for an incredibly stable and lightweight sail structure! A powerful shape and high-efficiency tension and twist of the Leech create rapid accelerations, lifting you immediately onto the foil. A perfect balance and a more advanced draft position offer exceptional stability and glide during "flight."
Micah Buzianis: The new Hornet is born from the great work done on the V-FR, all adapted to a lighter and more intuitive sail. It quickly became the perfect all-round Foil-Freeride sail, lightweight, easy to rig, stable with an excellent range. The rotation is simple and smooth, making the foiling-gybe a breeze!

Last year, we focused significantly on developing our Eagle-FR competition Foil-Race sails, and the HORNET 2022 borrows elements from that work. Further updates include a revised and smoother panel layout and a twist pattern with reduced weight in the head and upper part of the Leech. By popular demand, a 5.2 size has been added for 2022. We are excited about this new sail!
